Pick[]
A Pick, sometimes spelt pic, is a small instrument held between the thumb and index finger generally and used to hit individual notes, or strum. It creates a more solid sound then fingers. Some picks are made of metal, and others are attached to the thumb. There are many varieties, styles, shapes, and sizes. They are also known as "plectrums".
